Southern Italy isn’t aresort in Venice! There is nothing wrong with wanting the latter, but this tour is more like a safarifor adventurers who wish to see Italy through the eyes of locals. It is also DEFINITELY not forthose with small appetites, or anyone who is scared of carbs, fat, or fried food.What activity level should I be prepared for?While we try to make the tour as easy as possible for all guests, we can't help the fact that life in southern Italy is spent on your feet. Be prepared for plenty of walking on cobblestone streets and a fair amount of stairs and hills. Some of our activities include walking tours where you can expect to get some steps in. If you have mobility or fitness issues, we recommend reaching out to our travel agent partner, Angela Donato, at angeladonato@sognareinsiemeviaggi.com .What should I be ready to eat?A lot of carbs, a lot of fat, and a lot of food in general. If eating pasta, bread, pizza, pastries, etc. every day makes your stomach groan (in a bad way), this is definitely not the trip for you. Southern Italians are big eaters, even more so when they have guests (like you!) to host. Life here is based on food, so come prepared to eat.How can I get to Naples?There are a lot of options for traveling to/from Naples, depending on your situation. A lot of people who book their own arrangements miss out on cheaper or more convenient options, which is why we highly recommend contacting our partner, Angela Donato (angeladonato@sognareinsiemeviaggi.com), to help arrange everything. Traveling through southern Italy is easy but not always intuitive, so having a travel agent to lend a hand will make everything smoother.How can I return from Tropea?A private transfer from Tropea to Lamezia Terme airport/train station (or another nearby travel hub, if it's more convenient for you) will be provided. From there you can easily fly or take a train or plane to connect to your next destination.When should I arrive?If you do plan on making your own travel arrangements, we urge you to try and arrive in Italy at least one day before the trip starts. Nothing is worse than being jet lagged during our first meal together! On the first evening we meet up shortly before dinner, so we recommend making travel plans that see you arriving in Naples by the late afternoon so that you have time to check in and get settled before meeting the group.I would like to stay in Italy longer! They are widely available for purchase upon arrival in Italy. If you only require data, apps like Ubigi are helpful for purchasing affordable, flexible eSIM data plans.What is your COVID policy?We follow the recommendations and requirements of the Italian government at all times. As of this writing (always subject to change) there are currently no restrictions on travellers who have contracted COVID-19. In the event that a guest gets sick, we do not cancel the trip unless regulations change. It is up to individual guests to assess the hazards of travel and make their own decisions about whether to risk joining a group tour. As with any sickness, we urge guests who are feeling under the weather to rest, relax, recuperate, and rejoin the group once they have recovered.Payment PolicyA 50% non-refundable deposit will be collected at the time of booking. This voyage is best experienced as a couple.  

As a single participant I felt that my accommodations were not at best quality compared to coupled attendees.  To be fair, however, my accommodations were not subpar.  

The adventures and experiences were enjoyable.  Would I participate again?  Most likely not.  

Nevertheless; I would suggest this tour to couples as the hosts are quite charming - cultural differences aside. 

Really relaxed and stress free. Angela really opened our eyes to seeing Europe with the help of a travel agent. Our time in Rome and Napoli were far better than had we made arrangements on our own. 

Couldn’t have had a better time. The trip was perfectly planned and well-managed. We were so fortunate to meet people and visit places that most tourists don’t see. The food was fabulous! Angela and her team are just fantastic. We are already starting to plan a trip back to Italy and will book all travel/accommodations with them. Special praise for Milad, who went above and beyond to ensure that our trip was wonderful. It was!

Taste of Calabria - 2025

This trip couldn’t have been better for me. I have some mobility issues and these were accounted for during the activities. 
The preparation was extremely thorough and there were no hitches at all. Every aspect of the itinerary was well planned and extremely enjoyable and varied. How about an evening swim off a boat in the Mediterranean?  Amazing!  
The food, of course, was great!!  The trip to Dasà was wonderful and very welcoming. 
Hats off to Angela Donato for her experience and expertise as a guide.

We had a wonderful trip with a great bunch of fellow travelers.  The food was amazing, the accommodations were clean and convenient to exploring the area and our guide Angela was spectacular!  So knowledgeable, kind and fun!   The visit to Dasa was a highlight thanks to Ava, Harper and Gianni.  The ladies who cooked for us were top notch Nonas.  We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great experience in Calabria that includes great food and wine!

‘Taste of Calabria’ was a wonderful trip. This was our initial trip to Italy and it was a great experience of both coastal and mountain climates. The food was wonderful and the people were extremely welcoming. We could not have imagined a better trip. I also need to mention the travel agency personnel were great to work with. A Taste of Calabria: Sea and Mountain

This trip exceeded my expectations in every way!  The people, food, lodging and experiences were wonderful!  Thank you for everything!

Best food tour of Italy. Angela was amazing. She took us to many hidden gems that we wouldn’t be able to find otherwise. We got to experience variety of things without the feeling of being rushed. 

Wonderful time.   Great hotels.  Not too much time moving between hotels or traveling to sights.  Loved the day with Eva and Harper.   Food and wine were fantastic.   Great time of year - warm but not too hot or too crowded.  Angela was fantastic.   Communication was very good.  Great value.  Would recommend. 

This trip far exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were were excellent, far better that other tour companies we used previously. And the food .....WOW, need to come back for more. Also the tour personnel were so kind to accommodate my mobility issue. Can't wait to join them on a future tour ! The travel agent was awesome as well , thank you to Angela with Sognare Insieme Viaggi . So kind with all the accommodation's to my needs  and best customer service ever. They made all of the connections and transport easy for us. I will use them for all of my travel to Italy in the future. They are 20 out of 10 !

PASTA GRAMMAR TOUR 2024

I had an absolute amazing time. Angela and her team were great organizing several tours for me in Rome ahead of the pasta grammar tour start. The Pasta Grammar tour itself exceeded all expectations. We had a great group that made our travels even better. Harper and Eva are just as you see them on YouTube and get genuinely excited to share their experience and knowledge with you. 10 of 10. Already planning on doing the week in Dasa tour and will happily do the pasta grammar tour again if the itinerary shifts to some places I didn’t get to go on the 1st go round.
